Pride Month is a time for the LGBTQ+ community and allies to celebrate the work done and the progress made toward the acceptance and affirmation of all people’s authentic selves. Just as importantly, it is an opportunity to recognize how far we still have to go.
One area where same-sex couples continue to encounter barriers today is the path to parenthood, where limited resources or the financial burden associated with family planning often result in a more difficult journey.
To help support our team members in this position, we made a number of improvements to our employee benefits in 2021. These include partnering with Progyny to offer fertility and adoption assistance without the barriers that same-sex, opposite-sex, and single parents typically encounter. We also extended our parental leave policy to include 8 weeks of paid leave for all birth and adoptive parents, with additional leave provided to birth mothers.
Joby’s ambitious goals for the future of electric flight can’t be achieved without every member of our team feeling safe and proud to express their authentic self. This month and every month, we celebrate our LGBTQ+ employees and their invaluable contributions to our company and community.
